Cafe Worker-Bayou Country Cafe

As a Cafe Worker at TARC’s Bayou Country Café, you will feel great satisfaction that you are helping to fulfill TARC’s mission of Creating Opportunities for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.  We are a casual dining restaurant looking for an experienced and motivated Cafe Worker to join our team.  We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented individual, who is interested in growing professionally in a team-oriented environment, and is willing to work in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Registers sales on a cash register by itemizing and totaling customers’ purchases.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
• Bags purchases if needed.
• Processes return transactions.
• Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments and operating a cash register.
• Collects payments by accepting cash, check, credit card or gift card payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
• Provides pricing information by answering questions.
• Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
• A knowledge of the menu.
• Assisting with other positions in the restaurant as needed.

• Maintain a realistic work environment with special emphasis on proper safety procedures and work site employer’s policies in the completion of individual’s duties.
• Obtain and use the proper personal protective equipment/clothing (PPE) for individuals according to the job demands.
• Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of products used in the completion of job site demands are acquired and that sheets are read and understood by self
• Be able to maintain effective working relationships and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• Follow all TARC’s policies and procedures. Perform any other job duties as assigned.
