SUMMARY:  This work involves coordination of production and selling products for Cajun Confections Candy and Bakery.  Work is performed in accordance with agency policy and through periodic conferences with Manager.

This position is full time 240 day per year non-exempt hourly position.  Regular days of work will be as outlined on the holiday calendar.  Work is to be completed within the established rules and regulations set forth by Federal, State and Local governmental bodies as well as policies established by TARC and is reviewed through periodic conferences with the Manager.  This position is directly responsible to the Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for ordering supplies for the Candy and Bakery departments in a timely manner and preparation of any correspondence involved in a timely manner.
  • Obtain new customer orders/business and maintain current customer contracts
  • Responsible for the overall coordination of services in assigned area and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Assure all individuals’ rights and privileges are maintained.
  • Provide artistic ability, creativity, and willingness to share knowledge in the area of production and marketing.
  • Ensure that all staff in units are cross trained and have learned all areas of the business
  • Provide training, supervision, and direct care as needed to the clients assigned.
  • Organize, formulate and implement new projects to meet the fiscal needs of the program and the clients employed to perform the tasks needed.
  • Assists in development of marketing strategies for products.
  • Maintains customer database and generates internal database information, such as lists and counts for direct marketing projects.
  • Maintains equipment, materials and supplies needed for projects.
  • Participate in any promotional venue such as craft shows, specialty events, etc. as needed
  • Maintain proper safety procedures in the manufacture of products.
  • Assist when needed in all departments at TARC.
  • Able to work varied hours to accommodate the manufacture and distribution of products.
  • Complies with all TARC policies and procedures as well as Federal mandates for assigned department.
  • Attend all training as required.
  • Be able to maintain effective working relationships and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Properly complete administrative paperwork and submit with in timeframes.
  • Complete any/all job duties as assigned by manager.

  • Minimum of 22 years of age or older.

Education and/or Experience:   Six months to one year related experience and/or training with a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Louisiana Drivers License, CPR, First Aid.

Other Qualifications:  Artistic skills with creativity.
