One of TARC’s newest businesses, Cajun Confections Bakery, continues to thrive with their wide variety of homemade cakes, cookies, brownies, sweet potato pies, assorted fruit turnovers, and the famous South La. Pecan Pie. The homemade cakes can be bought by the slice or whole, and favorites include the strawberry cake and the coconut cake.
The 3.5 oz. pecan pies are wholesaled to customers in the New Orleans area as well as local merchants. They can also be purchased at retail through the TARC Restaurant & Gift Shop or by request. Cajun Confections Bakery also makes assorted pastry trays by customer request. The business creates opportunities for two staff and four TARC individuals. Currently, all of their products are being baked fresh daily are sold through the TARC Restaurant & Gift Shop or by customer's requests.
